Quick Start · Subscription Import

VPNUnit
Client Setup

Get your subscription first, then import it into your client. Follow the steps below to connect for the first time and test your apps.

Account Access

Create an Account and Save Your Login Details

Open the account creation page in the VPNUnit dashboard and follow the prompts to choose a username and password. No email address required—just a username and password. Choose a memorable username that doesn’t include sensitive personal information. Use a unique password and store it in a trusted password manager. Before submitting, check that both fields are correct and don’t contain accidental spaces or stray characters.

When you’re done, follow the on-screen instructions to open the dashboard. If you’re taken to the login page, sign in with the username and password you just created. Make sure you’re in the right account before choosing a plan. If you’ve used another account on a shared device, sign out first so your order isn’t added to the wrong account.

Being able to sign in doesn’t mean you have an active subscription. Next, check your plan and data status in the dashboard. Creating an account and installing a client are separate steps: the account manages orders and subscriptions, while the client connects your device to a route. You don’t need to enter a server address manually in your device’s system settings.

Plans and Orders

Choose a Plan Based on How You Use It

Open the Plans section in the dashboard and compare monthly plans with data packages. Monthly plans suit regular use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly from the activation date. Data packages last until used and never expire: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. The difference is how the data is used; data packages aren’t discounted monthly plans.

For occasional text browsing and AI tools, start by estimating your typical daily usage. Frequent video streaming, file downloads, and data syncing can use more data. You can connect unlimited devices at the same time, but that doesn’t mean data is unlimited. Choose a plan based on the devices and apps you’ll actually use, not just how many clients you install.

Select a plan to open the order page, then check the plan name, price, and data allowance before paying with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. After payment, return to the dashboard to check the order and plan status. If the status hasn’t updated yet, check the existing order before creating another one. VPNUnit offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the Terms of Service for full details.

If you upgrade a monthly plan partway through its term, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Check the order details shown in the dashboard before proceeding. If you’re unsure what your upgraded plan will look like, review the Support page first. Once the plan is active, you can get your subscription.

Get Your Subscription Ready to Import

Sign in to the dashboard, open the account overview, and check your plan, remaining data, and current status. Then find the subscription section. If the dashboard offers a one-click import option for your device, use it. Otherwise, copy the subscription link and paste it into your client’s configuration manager. You need to be signed in to get your subscription; it isn’t provided in this guide.

A subscription link lets a client retrieve route settings. It isn’t a regular web address or an installation file. Opening it in a browser might show configuration text or a download prompt, but that doesn’t mean your client is set up. Install the appropriate client first, then add the subscription in the client so it can load and list the available routes.

Use the copy option in the dashboard to avoid missing the end of the link. Treat your subscription link like account credentials: don’t post it publicly or share screenshots that show the full link. When reporting an issue, describe the error, your device platform, and where it happened. If you need to send a screenshot, hide the subscription details and personal account information.

If your client says the link is invalid, return to the dashboard and copy it again. Make sure you copied the subscription link, not the URL of the dashboard page. Don’t paste configuration data from different tools together. For more on importing, updating subscriptions, and configuration compatibility, see the Support page.

Instructions by Platform

Install a Client and Import

In the dashboard’s download section, select your device platform and follow the instructions to get the client provided by VPNUnit. This guide doesn’t provide static installer links; the dashboard controls download access and available platform options. The steps below apply to network clients that support subscription imports. If the dashboard offers automatic import, use the option that matches your client. If it doesn’t work, copy and import the link instead.

Windows: Add a Subscription in Configuration Settings

Select Windows in the download section, follow the installation prompts, and open the client. Find the configuration or subscription manager, choose the option to add a link, and paste in the subscription you copied from the account overview. Give it a recognizable name, save it, and refresh the list. Wait for the available regions and routes to appear. If you have other subscriptions, make sure the active configuration is the one for VPNUnit.

Once the import is complete, open the routes page, choose a region, and enable the connection or system proxy as prompted by the client. Some network routing options require system permissions. Check that the prompt comes from the client you just installed before approving it. Don’t let multiple network clients manage your connection at the same time; overlapping proxy settings can prevent access even when the route list looks normal.

macOS: Approve the Import and Check Your Configuration

Get the macOS client from the dashboard, install it, and follow the system prompts to open it. If you use the dashboard’s one-click import, your browser may ask whether to open the client. Check that it’s the right app and allow it to open, then confirm the configuration has been added in the client. To import manually, choose the option to add a link in the subscription manager, paste it, save, and refresh.

Make sure the imported subscription is selected before connecting. If macOS asks for permission to configure the network or access related settings, follow the client’s instructions. After connecting, test a regular website, then open your target service. If only one app isn’t working, quit and reopen that app before deleting and reinstalling the entire subscription.

Android: Approve the Connection Prompt After Importing

Choose Android in the dashboard’s download section and follow your device’s instructions to install the client. Open it and find the configuration list or subscription manager, then use the import-from-link option. If Android asks which app to use, choose the client you plan to use. Once the subscription is added, refresh the configuration and check that the region names appear on the routes page.

The first time you connect, Android may ask you to approve a system request to establish a VPN connection. Check the app name, approve the request, and return to the client to confirm the connection status. Then test a browser or target app. If the connection drops when the app is in the background, check your device’s background activity restrictions for the client. Settings vary by device, so menu names may differ.

iOS: Get the Client Using the Dashboard Instructions

Check the iOS download option and instructions in the dashboard. Follow the current guidance there for getting the client and granting permissions. After installing a compatible client, use the dashboard’s import option or add the link in the client’s configuration or subscription section. If your browser asks to open the corresponding app, check that it’s the right one and continue. Then return to the configuration list and confirm the subscription was saved and updated.

The first time you connect, iOS asks for permission to add a VPN configuration. Follow the system prompts to approve it. Then select a route and connect in the client; seeing a configuration name in system settings alone doesn’t mean it’s active. If the subscription is imported but no regions appear, check the update result. Getting the client, importing the configuration, and connecting to a route are related but separate steps, and each needs to be verified.

Connect to a Route and Test Your Apps

After the subscription updates successfully, choose a region that fits your needs, then connect to an available route in that region. For streaming services and AI tools with region restrictions, check the service’s supported regions and account requirements first. A route’s location is only one factor in access; it doesn’t replace the target platform’s own account permissions or guarantee that all content will always be available.

For your first session, keep the client’s recommended rules or split-tunneling settings. Rule-based mode routes traffic according to the configuration. Global mode changes the path for more traffic and shouldn’t be left on if you’re unsure what it affects. If an app needs its own proxy settings, an active system connection doesn’t necessarily mean that app will use the same route—especially for command-line tools and development environments.

After connecting, open a familiar website to confirm your basic internet access still works. Then test the service you actually want to use: check that the page loads fully, you can continue through sign-in, and the content works as expected. For streaming, check that playback continues; for AI tools, check that the response finishes. Don’t rely only on a “Connected” status in the client or an icon in the system tray to confirm that every app is working.

If something doesn’t work, first check that your local network has internet access. Then check your plan and remaining data in the dashboard. Refresh the subscription, confirm the correct configuration is active, and try another available route in the same region. Change one setting at a time and repeat the test to identify whether the issue is with the subscription, route, or app. Switching modes, regions, and clients all at once can make the problem harder to track down.

When you’re done testing, disconnect once and check that local websites work normally, then reconnect and use your target app. To set up another device later, repeat the import and testing steps for that platform. Unlimited devices can be connected at the same time. If you still need help, see the Support page for connection and troubleshooting guidance, or sign in to the dashboard and submit a ticket with your platform, the error message, and the steps you’ve already tried.
